Every other day I unplug from the virtual world and plug into nature and write. No internet, Facebook, email, or phone. Bliss. Highly recommended. Enjoy.

I once took a month off and it was awesome. Now I hard target how I use my social media time. When I’m in between things, in line, in between appointments, short breaks, is when I’ll scroll my feeds and give likes and some comments, or will post videos or share things. I usually give myself 30-60 min of play time on social media just to do whatever but then I shut it off. I close my tabs on the computer, close the app on my phone, and during those times social media does not exist. When you’re doing online business, and you’re engaging with your audience and launching a new product (of services), I don’t recommend taking a social media break altogether, but rather, segmenting your social media time into positive, effective interactions so you can eliminate the time wasting, and focus more on creating and sharing your valuable content.

Jamie Elmer, you can also make all your post scheduled through your page for the time you will be away so you can still market if that is a wonder. If not a wonder, then enjoy the break, sister 🙂 x o

Yep – regularly. Once for a year, other times for just a week or so here and there. It’s amazing.

I did it for 4 months, and had so much hatred and people offended because I “disappeared” and was not sharing my life .. some took it personally; some were worried, others understood… but it’s like in some ways you’re not “allowed” to just unplug and go away for a bit

I did for 3 months. It was great but a lot of my marketing efforts are most successful through social media. So here I am again

I think everyone benefits from taking a break from it every now and then.

Highly recommend it on a semiregular basis! I see it through the lens of “digital detox” and right along with a need for taking a break from regularly consuming the “news”, due to how it affects the quality of our consciousness. I see social media as being quite “loud”, which does not help the mind quiet down and reach a calm state of being.

I’ve been off for months at a time. Nobody noticed, nobody cared… (at least, I think, nobody cared) would still answer messages, though. I do it periodically, but recently FB has failed to notify me of postings directed at me, which worries me. I don’t want to have people think I am ignoring them, or not answer an important question, or not be there for someone if they seem to need encouragement…

Im considering it too. The non stop news flashes in my news feed of shocking bad news has made me paranoid and its not healthy.

It’s good to drop everything. A complete mind fast for a week. Interestingly it reveals how we are still irrevocably connected.
